Course Description
Across America’s industries, there are nearly 4 million commercial drivers on the road who help make our country go. These commercial drivers and their employers must follow an extensive set of rules and regulations put in place by the United States Department of Transportation, or DOT.

Complying with these regulations is mandatory for all motor carriers and drivers operating commercial motor vehicles. This course introduces the rules, regulations, and processes that are required of all motor carriers in the United States. DOT Compliance encompasses a wide variety of obligations, including driver qualifications, hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and drug and alcohol testing, among others.

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the major DOT compliance regulations and operations that impact motor carriers. It is intended as a first-time introduction to DOT compliance for new hires, administrative employees, or those simply looking for a refresher on the topic. More exhaustive deep-dives into each DOT-related topic (such as DOT Risk Assessment, DOT Filings & Paperwork, or Compliance Manger training) can be found in individual training modules focused on that particular topic.
